Swimming in the Crystal Blue Waters of LAKAWON ISLAND  Cadiz City, Negros Occidental

This puppy wants to spend a lazy day basking under the sun with a great view of the great blue waters. Just enjoy the warm sea breeze on my face and some adventures that involves swimming in deep waters.

Puppy Mood:  Wanting to maximize summer trips but do not want to go too far from home.

Well hello Lakawon!

Puppy Facts:

“Lakawon” is derived from a Cebuano word lakaw, meaning “to walk”. The island may have gotten its name because during low tide, one has to literally walk or wade a long distance to or from the main island.(Wikipedia.com)

This beautiful white-sand island is located 20-30 minutes off shore of Barangay Cadiz Viejo. This banana/crescent-shaped island is known to rival the powdery white sand of Boracay minus the commercial development and the crowd.

How to get there from Bacolod City:

Jeep to Ceres North Terminal :

Ø  Jeeps from Mandalagan/Bata-Libertad

The bus terminal is located to your right. Just tell the jeep driver that you want to go to the Ceres North Terminal.

PhP 7-8.00 per head.

Ceres to Cadiz City Trip will take you 1-1.5 hours. Tell the conductor that you will get off Cadiz Viejo for Lakawon. Php 52-65.00 per head
Tricycle to Pier: You can go and occupy the tricycle but since we are on a budget we waited to another 4 passengers Php 12-25 per head
Boat ride to Lakawon: If it is during the summer where there are quite a number of guests going to Lakawon, you won’t be waiting too long for the next trip. Usually it goes every hour with the number of passenger depending on the size of the boat. Php 150 per head

Puppy Seal of Approval:

Take time to explore the island. It is a fairly sized island so you can walk from one end to another. Enjoy the sun and swimming in the beach.

IMG_20160610_100103[1] Don’t you just wish you are sitting right here?

Travel Party: Good for all. Whether you are a lone puppy, barkada or the whole family! The travel is safe and convenient for all kinds of travel parties.

Budget: Food is probably the only one that would cost you fair amount of money if you buy from their restaurant. Though fairly priced, water and other refreshment is quite costly so my puppy advice, BRING YOUR FOOD. Accommodations range from Php 700 to Php 5000. It is very flexible for all budget trippers.

2016-06-18_19.33.34[1] Bask in the sun! Summer is not yet over!

Trip: You can just have a day trip or you can stay overnight and have the island for yourselves.
